Quality Leadership

StayWell is proud that the grit, determination, commitment and expertise of our team led to naming StayWell as a National Quality Leader ranked in the top 1 to 2 percent of all health centers across the country in one or more of the clinical quality measures that promote behavioral health, diabetes prevention and management, and heart health in 2019.  HRSA has commended our health center on our achievements in improving cost-efficient care delivery while also increasing quality of care, reducing health disparities, increasing patients’ ability to access comprehensive services, and advancing the use of health information technology.

StayWell has been a leader in transforming healthcare for several decades.  This leadership includes being an early adopter of a fully integrated electronic health record system, in 2004 beginning formal agency-wide cultural competency training, the first health center in CT to become recognized by NCQA for Level 3 PCMH under the 2011 standards, and in 2014 opening a MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) program.  We have understood and evolved our measure of success from counting “widgets” or visits, to reviewing and continuously improving the quality of the care outcomes and care experience.  Most recently, StayWell achieved national Exemplary Practice status as a result of our practice transformation work.
